The Baltimore chapter of ICAN - International Cesarean Awareness Network - works to prevent unnecessary cesareans and support women who have had cesareans. ICAN also works to educate women about VBACing. Barbara Stratton leads this group together with Bobbie Humphrey and promotes cesarean awareness and informs the public of the current cesarean rates in local Maryland hospitals as compared with the local birth center and local Maryland midwives attending births at home.
